Margate suites: a pretty cool hotel tour Uk stay!
Hello pals! Today I want to show you Margate suites. One of the uk’s coolest hotels!!! If you are hooked on the Instagram account @aprettycoolhoteltour then you will know some of the amazing hotels and rooms they have stayed in over the years. Honestly! Some of them are incredible; the Cadillac beds, the heart shaped bathtubs… they really are incredible! However, most of the hotels they stay in are in america, which sucks for us UK ladies who love cool interiors! However.., there is one amazing place they featured and it is in the uk! So I thought I would share it with you!
Margate suites
I don’t know if you remember, but a summer ago, the ‘a pretty cool hotel tour’ team came to the Uk and stayed in an amazing hotel with a shell shaped bed. Well, the bed isn’t a shell, but the bed is inside a shell. Like a shell-cubby hole! Its amazing!
Anyway, my point is, there’s a hotel in the uk which has a shell themed bed and a pink bedroom with a round bed and I wanted to tell you about it!
it’s called Margate suites and there’s a few holiday apartments, so if you are booking, make sure you emphasise that you want the ‘courtyard suite’ and tell them it’s the one with the shell bed.
Margate suites is in a pretty cool position in Margate, it’s right on the seafront: literally out the door is the beach! And there’s a great fish and chip place around the corner, Pete’s fish factory, which is a must visit!
Also in Margate there’s loads of amazing vintage shops, an art gallery ‘turner contemporary’, Margate caves and shell grotto.
theres also dreamland which is a wonderful vintage fairground! Perfect for photo opportunities – although not as good as the seashell bed, if I’m honest!!!
Where to buy a seashell bed?!
seriously! Where do you buy a seashell bed?! I have no idea! But I can tell you that this seashell bed was made and designed bespoke by the girls at studio Margate. The round bed was also designed and made by them too! Sorry I don’t have a better answer for you!
where can I buy a heart shaped bath tub Uk?
Seven years ago I found a heart shaped bath on eBay and didn’t buy it. It’s one of my life’s biggest regrets!!! They are incredibly hard to find, most of them are vintage and most were located in America, not in the uk. You can buy them on Ali express, but they would cost a fortune to import and I have no idea on the quality and if they would be a nightmare to fit with uk systems.
the only other option, which is something I considered, was hiring a joiner to make you one from a wood frame and tile it’s a heart shaped bath, but not a classic tub. More like a mini swimming pool in your bathroom… the advantages would be that you get a heart shaped tub, the disadvantages is that it might not be as comfortable. But it would look cool!!
Anyway! If you want to stay here, it’s amazing and not that expensive. But it does fill up fast, especially in the summer so book ahead! It’s called the courtyard suite at Margate suites. It’s amazing!
