  • If the ketchup is too liquid for you, thicken it with a teaspoon of starch. Season it with salt and pepper to taste, and pour the ketchup into a clean bottle.

  • One tsp pepper
  • One pinch of salt

  • Heat olive oil in a pot. Chop onions and garlic finely and sauté over medium heat.
  • Add the tomatoes and let everything simmer for about 20 minutes. Stir occasionally.
  • Lift the pot from the heat and let it cool down briefly. Add the spices and puree everything with a blender.
  • Put the hot ketchup with a funnel into sterile (boiled in water for 10 minutes) preserving jars and close them immediately.
  • When closed, the ketchup can be getting stored for about one month. Once opened, it should be getting used within a week.
